What a weekend!

What a snow covered weekend this has been. The Erie Airport recorded 23.4 inches in 24 hours. Now that is a lot of snow. I stayed at work for 16 hours, I could not have gotten home anyway. It really was not busy; the only people on the road were in the ditches, or stuck in the snow drifts. The towing services finally quit answering their phones around 3 am on Sunday. The main roads were cleaned up pretty well by the time Roger came to get me. My thanks to all of those who worked so hard to make it so.

I hope to work on my little quilt today. With two days off I should be able to get something done. I do feel a little inadequate after looking at the pictures in the Erie Times of art displays that everyone could take in on Saturday. There probably wasn't much of a turn out with the weather like it was. My imagination needs a lift.

Wonderful Winter

Another wonderful winter day in Erie, PA. Yesterday it was 65 degrees, tonight we have a lot of ice and no power. Great day to start a blog. I was sewing tonight, working on a quilt for a show in Edinboro, but then the weather got so bad that I took a break to see what was going on.

The quilt show is on July 5 and is a show and sale. There is not judging so it will be a chance for some who have never shown to get out and see how their quilts are viewed. Should be very interesting. I have a couple of items in mind and have already started on one.

Best shut this down before I run out of power for the laptop. Certainly glad I am not at work tonight. I can not imagine how busy it would be.
